PURPOSE: To omit use of any graduation plate to be affixed to a current adjusting dial and display thereon a graduation which corresponds to the rated current of a heat element and the number of electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: A checking device 91 reads the number of electrodes and the rated current of a thermal type over-load relay 9 which is transported intermittently by a transport line 90. The output signal from this checking device 91 is sent into a controlling computer 92, and a laser beam 100 emitted from a laser generating device 93 on the basis of the output signal from the checking device 91 is applied directly on the surface of a current adjusting dial through polarizing mirrors 95, 96, and thereupon the current value and graduation are marked.
