Title:
CURRENT LEAD OF SUPERCONDUCTIVE COIL DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62160777
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To conduct a current stably without causing superconductivity breakdown, by forming a surface-area expanded part at the end part of a lead, which is connected to a superconductive wire. CONSTITUTION:At a lower end part 5 of a current lead, an irregular part 13 as a surface-area expanded part is formed. Thus at the current lead, supercritical pressure helium flows into a sheath tube 2 through a helium introducing pipe 3, and a superconductive wire 1 is cooled. When the supercritical pressure helium flows into the sheath tube 2, the helium flows down along the surface of the irregular part 13 having a large heat transfer area. Therefore, the lower end part 5 of the current lead is sufficiently cooled. The surface-area expanded part having the large heat transfer area is formed at the end part of the current lead having a large quantity of Joule heating and connected to the superconductive wire. Therefore, the end part of the current lead can be sufficiently cooled even with the supercritical pressure helium, whose cooling ability is low. A current can be conducted through a superconductive coil stably without causing superconductivity breakdown.
