Abstract:
To provide a current limiting device of smaller size, less weight, and lower cost.
A first iron core 2C and a second iron core 2D magnetically saturate when no current flows a coil 3 and when a load current is energized to the coil 3. If a short-circuit current flows the coil 3, the magnetic saturation is released either at the first iron core 2C or at the second iron core 2D. The sectional area of magnetic path of the first iron core 2C or the second iron core 2D is small so that the first iron core 2C or the second iron core 2D whose magnetic saturation has been released magnetically saturates as the current flowing the coil 3 increases when the short-circuit current flows the coil 3.
