Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current-limiting device which uses a tension spring for which a fixing part is not required other than a contact separation member is not required, and in which constitutive member deterioration or grounding is unlikely to be incurred by a high-temperature arc gas that may be generated when separating a contact, the current-limiting device being configured to limit overcurrent that may be generated when a short-circuiting accident occurs in a power system for example.SOLUTION: The current-limiting device includes: a plurality of tension springs 14 each fitting both ends to two contact separation members 12 and 13 holding a contact member 11 therebetween, for engaging the contact separation members 12 and 13 to an engage part of the contact member 11; and a partition 16 installed between the contact member 11 and the tension spring 14.
