Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the number of components parts in use and facilitate the mullion installing operations without use of any cover for a coupling piece in such a case that the mullion of a curtain wall is supported by a steel structural member.
CONSTITUTION: Using a coupling piece 8, a mullion 1 to support a wall is coupled with a steel structural member 2 erected parallel with the mullion 1. The metal piece 8 is composed of the first member 9 fixed to the mullion 1 and the second member 10 screw engaged by the first member 9. Upon adjustment of the depth of the screw engagement the end of the second member 10 is contacted with the steel structural member 2 followed by welding, and thus the mullion 1 add steel member 2 are coupled together.
