PURPOSE: To provide joint soil for artificial lawn having a cushioning characteristic which maintains draining characteristic and can be used for athletic facilities by composing it of sand covered with or adhered with resin or oil of nonsoluble type to water.

CONSTITUTION: Cushion type joint soil is provided by mixing synthetic resin, oil additive agent in sand and hardening them. The bulk density of the joint soil should be 0.5-1.2g/cm3. As the synthetic resin, at least one kind of materials, such as silicon, urethane, acryl, olefin, styrene, vinyl acetate, epoxy polyester and nylon is used. The containing amount of synthetic resin and oil should be 0.1-30wt.% of the weight of sand corresponding to that of dried sand. The viscosity of oil at 25 degrees C should be 50,000-100,000cst while the fluidizing point of oil should be 0 degree C or less. Upon mixing the liquid or emulsion resin if used is used as it is, while the solid resin if used should be heated and melted or turned into resin solution, and then used.
