PURPOSE: To reduce a material cost and be advantageous in environmental protection, and further to prevent setting of a control knob from being changed with an excessive load applied to the control knob of an object.
CONSTITUTION: A first side plate 12 and a second side plate 14 of a cushioning device 1 for housing a DAT 100 are inclined so that their distance increases as going downward. Upper ends of the respective side plates 12, 14 are coupled by an upper plate 13, while a bottom plate 17 is provided on their lower parts. The DAT 100 is mounted on the bottom plate 17. A control knob of the DAT 100 is placed facing the first side plate 12. Since a cushioning space is formed between the device 1 and a decorative box 2 as the respective side plates 12, 14 are inclined, expanded styrene or the like is not needed to reduce a material cost, as well as the device 1 is advantageous in environmental protection. Since the respective side plates 12, 14 are not in contact with a control knob even if vibration or shock is applied, setting of the control knob can be prevented from changing with an excessive load applied to the knob.
