A side end 1a of the cushioning material 1 for the edge of the sliding door has a meeting part 4 which can be fitted into the other sliding door abutting on and coming into close contact with the sliding door 2, and the other side end 1b has a frame material abutting part 6 which can abut on and come into close contact with the frame material 5. The cushioning material 1 is formed in such a manner that it can be chosen which of the side ends 1a and 1b should be mounted outside. Thus, the meeting part 4 is mounted outside a moving-direction side edge 3 of the sliding door 2 when the cushioning material 1 abuts on and comes into close contact with the other sliding door, and the frame material abutting part 6, which can abut on and come into close contact with the frame material 5, is mounted outside the moving-direction side edge 3 of the sliding door 2, when the cushioning material 1 abuts on and comes into close contact with to the frame material 5. Consequently, when the sliding doors abut on each other and the sliding door and the frame material 5 abut on each other, the proper sealability can be ensured.
