To provide a cushioning material for transport and a transport method utilizing the cushioning material which reliably prevents articles stacked on one another and loaded on a load-carrying platform of a vehicle from impinging against one another, improves a loading efficiency and also causes no hindrance when it is not used.
Under the condition that piles (loaded pile) 18 of articles stacked on one another and loaded on a load-carrying platform of a vehicle are arranged side by side in a plurality of rows, a cushioning material relating to a practical shape is provided in which a pair of platelike member 26 are connected with beltlike members 28. One of the platelike members 26 is inserted into a gap between the loaded pile 18 and one of the adjacent loaded piles 18 from above the articles 14 stacked in the loaded pile 18. Further, the beltlike members 28 are made to extend across the stacked articles 14 from above them, and the other platelike member 26 is inserted into a gap 20 between the loaded pile 18 and the other adjacent loaded pile 18. Thus, the cushioning member is set in such a manner as to cover one loaded pile 18 from above.
