Title:
CUSHIONING MECHANISM FOR WHEELCHAIR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002143225
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a cushioning mechanism of a wheelchair in which a spring member can dampen an impactive reaction force transmitted to a user from a road surface and there is no risk of tilting the body of the wheelchair due to deflection of a spring by the movement of body weight of the user or driving of a drive wheel.

This cushioning mechanism of a wheelchair has spring cases 12 formed in a body frame 1, coil springs 13 mounted into the spring cases 12, and poles 14 projected downward in both sides of a sheet frame 8, and fitting of the poles 14 into the spring cases 12 applies a deflection to the coil springs 13. Removable lid members 15 on which the coil springs 13 can sit are removably mounted at the bottoms of the spring cases 12.
