PURPOSE: To extend thoroughgoing services to a customer by providing a single card for an individual customer covering customer and market information relative to the attributes of the customer and a warranty function.
CONSTITUTION: A custom warranty card to be handed to an individual customer has a space for specified descriptions to be filled. This card is inserted into an input part 24, then is processed by a reading/writing part 26, and is recorded by a recording part 25. In addition, specified points are calculated and the calculated point data is entered on the card by a point part 27. Further, these units of data are transmitted to the host computer of a manufacturer by the processing part 33 and the transmission control part 34 of a terminal process controller part on a sales store side. If a television set purchased by a customer fails to operate within a warranty period for a free repair service, he has only to bring the television set to the sales store or a service center and orally refer to a television set model number and a serial number. The free repair service is extended by collating these numbers through the terminal unit at either the sales store or the service center. Thus the thoroughgoing customer services can be ensured.
