Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide automatic clustering processing which detects reference to a resource of a database in a customer self-service system and infers a context of a similar user.
SOLUTION: The customer self-service system comprises a context attribute database containing a type of a user context and an attribute of each user and a context attribute function database which computes a value for each context attribute. A context clustering system clusters a user dialog data according to a distance metric and judges a new user context and a related attribute for use in successive resource retrieval. An improved user reference definition and resource look-up are created from the new user context attribute. The user dialog data contains past and present user reference, system response and raw context information.
