Title:
CUT GEM, PARTICULARLY CUT-DIAMOND
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3569492
Kind Code:
B
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cut gem having an original and brilliant optical effect and dispersion of light.
SOLUTION: A cut gem, particularly diamond has cut faces of a preliminarily determined number within a crown (10) and within a pavilion around a geometrically symmetrical center shaft. The cut faces (25 to 27) are arranged in a hexagonal shape and around the symmetrical axis. The geometrically symmetrical axis is preferably corresponding to one of ternary crystal axes of the diamond. A girdle (12) for separating the crown (10) from the pavilion has a rove-shaped contour (20) and has 6 rounded projecting parts and 6 rounded recessed parts (21, 22). The gem cut in this way is capable of obtaining an original and brilliant optical effect and dispersion of light.
