To provide a cutter of which the section cutting a wire is compactly installed at a side part of a header type heading machine and with which the cut wire having a right angle cut face is obtained in a precise quantity.
A wire cutter adder to a header type heading machine for the upset forging of a bolt head and for forming products through the plastic deformation of wires comprises a cutting cam 3 mounted on a timing shaft 2 in an interlocking manner with a crank shaft 1, a cutting rod 8 which is driven by the cutting cam 3 via a connecting mechanism, and provided in a perpendicular direction at the position close to a forging part, a cutting die 12 in which a wire 10 to be fed in the horizontal direction is passed through the die hole 11, and a hammer mechanism to give a hammer impact to the cutting rod 8 when the wire passed through the die hole 11 in the cutting die 12 is inserted in a circular blade 9 of the cutting rod 8 and stopped at a predetermined length, and is driven in the perpendicular direction so that the cutting rod is thrust up from the lower side by the hammer impact to cut the wire by the die hole 11 and the circular blade 9.
