Abstract:
PURPOSE: To lessen the intrusion of fine metallic powder as far as possible and to improve the taste of a coffee extraction liquid by applying an inorg. film on the surface of a cutter base material consisting of a metal. CONSTITUTION: The inorg. film 4 is applied on the surface of the cutter base material 3 consisting of the metal, such as stainless steel sheet material or titanium sheet material of the cutter 2 of a mill section 1 for grinding coffee beans. The film of titanium nitride is applied as the film 4 on the base material 3 if the base material is, for example, the stainless steel sheet material. The film 4 is formed by a heat treatment in a nitrogen atmosphere if the base material 3 is the titanium sheet material. Namely, the metal ions in the coffee extraction liquid decrease and eventually, the measured values as the scale for astringency and bad taste fall and the extremely good taste is obtainable.
