This grinding device has a grinding part 10 formed with a rotating mechanism to rotate a wet cylindrical grinding tool 11 and a water tank 12 supplied with water to wet the grinding tool 11, a cutter mounting part 20 to mount the cutter 21 thereon, a reciprocally driving part 30 to reciprocally drive the cutter 21 along the cutter edge, an up-and-down moving part 40 to press the cutter 21 against the grinding tool and a thrust control mechanism to control the thrust of the cutter 21 against the grinding tool 11. The thrust, angle and reciprocating speed of the cutter to the grinding tool 11 are automatically controlled to do grinding work, so that anyone can do grinding work for the cutter 21 for which skills have been required.
