Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stabilize jaws under cutting by providing a split-cylindrical spring at a pivot point between the jaws of cutting head to give outward force expanding within a pivot hole to the jaws to reduce the play of the jaws around the pivot point.

CONSTITUTION: The cutting head 100 of a normal wire cutter or a sheet metal cutter is provided with the jaws 106 and 108 and holes 11 and 113 are arranged at the tip parts of the jaws 106 and 108. The holes 11 and 113 is suited to respective bolts and a handle is attached by the bolts. In addition, the jaws 106 and 108 are held by upper and lower metallic pads 114 and 116 to be fixed by bolts 118 and 120. The head 100 is provided with an incision an axial direction and provided with a cylindrical spring 102 of a C-formed cross section. The spring 102 is made of elastic materials and arranged at a pole at the pivot point between the jaws 106 and 108. The spring 102 expands outward the boundary of the hole to give outward force to the jaws 106 and 108 to suppress the play on the moving of the jaw 106 within a surface different from a surface where a jaw is pivotally moved.
