To provide a cutter installation method which is applicable without halting the operation of the adhesive tape sticking device for a long time when a cutter is replaced by a new one or a new cutter is installed in an adhesive tape sticking device for sticking an adhesive tape cut by a cutter to a sticking target material.

The cutter installation method includes: a mounting step of mounting the cutter made of a magnetic body on a cutter mounting surface of a cutter holder; an arranging step of arranging a cutting edge of the cutter mounted on the cutter mounting surface, at a location that is sucked to a cutter location reference surface of a magnetized member spaced a predetermined distance away from the cutter location reference surface; a fixing step of fixing the cutter arranged in the arranging step, to a cutter holder; and an installation step of installing the cutter holder to which the cutter is fixed, on a holder holding portion of the adhesive tape sticking device.
