To provide an excellent cutter mechanism by which full cutting and partial cutting can be stably executed.
The cutter mechanism M has a rotary blade 3 having a projecting blade 3a projected on the circumference, a cutter carriage 4 which pivotally and freely rotatably supports the rotary blade 3, a rotational drive means 20 for transmitting the rotational drive force by being engaged with the gear part 14 of the rotary blade 3, a locking means 30 for locking the rotation by being engaged with the gear part 14 of the rotary blade 3, an engagement switching means 40, which selectively engages either of the rotational drive means 20 and the locking means 30 with the rotary blade 3, and a cutter drive means for moving the cutter carriage 4 to the width direction of roll paper S. The engagement switching means 40 is freely rotatably supported to the cutter carriage 4 and provided with an oscillating arm 5 in an approximately Y-shaped in which the rotational drive means 20 and the locking means 30 are respectively provided on the oscillating end side. When the locking means 30 is engaged with the gear part 14 of the rotary blade 3, the projecting blade 3a of the rotary blade 3 is not rotated and crosses with the roll paper S.
