PURPOSE: To prevent the breakage of a strip edge or cutting edge by a crimped terminal, solve the waste of a number of following cables, and improve productive efficiency, in a cutter protecting device to be integrated into a cutting and stripping device for cable in an automatic terminal crimp machine.

CONSTITUTION: A cable feed device 2 for transmitting a cable feed count signal and a control circuit 22 are connected to the driving device 21 of a cutting and stripping device 3 for cable in an automatic terminal crimp machine. On the outlet side of the cutting and stripping device 3, a cable guide member 16 is provided, and the cable guide member 16 has a cable detector 20 to detect the feed of cable to the control circuit 22.
