PURPOSE: To prevent the inclination of the cut surface by forming a penetration hole for a rod member at the center part of a fixed cutter and installing a return spring urged outwardly into a clamp hole perpendicularly crossing with the above-described penetration hole, so as to advance and retreat.
CONSTITUTION: The interval between a fixed cutter 18 and a stopper 78 is adjusted to the cutting length of a rod member 6 by adjusting the position of the stopper 78 by a normal and reverse revolving motor 88. When the rod member 6 is forwardly supplied and attached onto the stopper 78, passing through a back- up member 56 and the penetration holes 21 and 50 of the fixed cutter 18 and a movable cutter 47, a pressing lever 33 is pushed-down by a clamp cylinder not shown in the figure by a cutting starting signal, and a clamping pin 24 is pushed-in to clamp the rod member 6. Then, a ram 11 is lowered and the movable cutter 47 is pushed-down by a pressurizing body 52, and the rod member 6 is cut by the fixed cutter 18 and the movable cutter 47. With such constitution, the inclination of the cut surface of the rod member is prevented, and the cutting accuracy can be improved.
