To provide a cutter for simply and manually cutting off an almost columnar or almost cylindrical object with no intensive force required.

This cutter 1 is provided with a pair of cutting blades 2 and 3 facing each other and a supporting mechanism 4 supporting them so that a distance between the pair of the cutting blades can be changed. The object to be cut is held between the pair of the cutting blades 2 and 3, and is cut off in a tearing-off fashion relatively moving the object to be cut and the supporting mechanism 4 each other. The pair of the cutting blades 2 and 3 is supported with a prescribed distance so that the object to be cut can be held, and the supporting mechanism 4 is provided with an elastic body 8 which is elastically deformed when the distance between the pair of the cutting blades is made narrower than the prescribed distance. The pair of the cutting blades 2 and 3 is arranged in parallel and is replaceably fixed.
