PURPOSE: To provide a vegetable/fruit cutter which can safely cut a vegetable or fruit into pieces of a required shape by extending a handle from one side of the cutter base in the direction of the relative movement of the material to be cut.

CONSTITUTION: This cutter 1 has a base 2 and a cutting blade 3. The base 2 has a holding surface 21 which holds the surface of the material to be cut and a handle 22. On the center of the base, a nearly parallelogram slot 23 is bored through the holding surface 21. The handle 22 is extended from one side of the base 2 so as to be extended from the fringe of base 2 and can be held by hands. The width of the cutting blade 3 is slightly narrower than that of the slot 23 and the cutting blade is a double-edge blade. The cutting blade 3 is fixed to the base 2 covering the upper surface of the slot 23. When a person uses the cutter 1 to slice a radish, he can always watch the cutting blade 3, so he seldom injures the tip of fingers of his hand holding the radish by mistake with the cutting blade 3.
