PURPOSE: To provide a method in which cutting bend at a band sawing machine during cutting is detected easily and with high precision and without requiring an amplification mechanism by means of extremly simple constitution and is corrected adequately on the basis of this detection value.
CONSTITUTION: Between the right and left portions of a saw head 3 furnishing windingly a band sawing edge 1 between right and left band wheels 2a, 2b, a wire 4 is provided in a linear form through a stretching spring 6 along the upper part of the back portion of a cutting process sawing edge 1a, and the wire 4 is made to intrude into a cutting groove following the sawing edge 1a at the time of a work W being cut off, and at the same time the front and rear direction displacement of a measurer 7 fitted to the halfway point of the wire 4 is detected by means of a displacement sensor, and when a cutting bend quantity calculated from this displacement exceeds an allowance value, a cutting-in speed is decelerated in accordance with the cutting bend quantity.
