Abstract:
To provide a cutting device and a cutting control method therefor that, without trial and error, are able to set appropriate cutting conditions corresponding to the rigidity as of a driving mechanism for performing rotation and feed of a cutting tool and a fixing portion for fixing a workpiece.SOLUTION: A cutting device 10 is mounted on a tool-side unit 30 and acquires a detection value of an acceleration sensor 50 that detects a vibration acceleration in a direction orthogonal to a feeding direction of a spherical cutter 34 at the mounted position thereof. The cutting device 10 calculates an attenuation ratio that is the ratio of an amount of variation in a detection value acquired in the latter half of a period of time in which a cutting process using the spherical cutter 34 is performed, to an amount of variation in a detection value acquired in the former half of the period of time in which the cutting process is performed and, based on the calculated attenuation ratio, adjusts a cutting condition for a cutting process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
