An end surface correcting tool 7 having a grinding wheel 73 is positioned and arranged on a holding table for holding a workpiece, and a storage part 11 stores a relative position in at least the X direction and the Z direction of the end surface 341a of the flange 341 of a cutting means and the grinding wheel 73. After adjusting the positional relationship in at least the X direction and the Z direction of the end surface 341a and the grinding wheel 73 under the control by a control part 10, the end surface correction work can be automatically and properly performed by determining an end surface correction starting position in the Y direction by detecting contact between the end surface 341a and the grinding wheel 73 by a detecting part by approaching the end surface 341a and the grinding wheel 73 in the Y direction.
