To perform attaching and detaching work of a tool or a master without interference to a dial gauge by providing an adapter integrally and movably supported on a slide member and for supporting a holder of the tool in the optional direction.
In attaching or detaching of a master 13 or a tool to and from an adapter 12, the master 13 or the tool is moved together with the adapter 12 and a slide member 11 and separated from a dial gauge 14. Therefore, the attaching or detaching work can be performed without interference to the dial gauge 14, the dial gauge 14 is needed not to be moved, workability can be secured, the occurrence of error caused by the movement of the dial gauge 14 can be prevented, and the precision of adjustment of the cutting edge size can be secured. Adjusting work of the position of the cutting edge of the master 13 or the tool can be performed in the suitable position outside the cutting edge adjusting device.
