Abstract:
To provide a cutting device that can vibrate a tool at desired vibration amplitude and a control method for the same.SOLUTION: A cutting device 1, which comprises a main shaft 3, tool driving means 20 that makes a tool 12 to perform feed operation while vibrating the tool in a feeding direction and vibration amplitude control means 30 that controls vibration amplitude of vibration of the tool 12 on the basis of a command vibration amplitude value, and cuts a material 2 to be processed, further comprises: memorizing means 30b memorizing correlation data showing a correlation between an actual vibration amplitude value of vibration of the tool 12 which is driven by the tool driving means 20 and the command vibration amplitude value; an input part 31 to which a target vibration amplitude value for the tool 12 is inputted; and command vibration amplitude value setting means 30 that sets a command vibration amplitude value in cutting processing so that the target vibration amplitude value inputted to the input part 31 matches with the actual vibration amplitude value in the correlation data memorized in the memorizing means 30b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
