To solve various problems such as risk of ignition when using a conventional water-insoluble cutting oil, toxicity and environmental protection accompanying use of a chlorine-based organic solvent in a step for washing article to be cut and various problems of an aqueous cutting liquid containing an organic component in large amount and provide a new aqueous cutting liquid or aqueous slurry excellent in cutting processing performance and satisfying attainment of viscosity stability and reduction of formulation amount of the organic component and to provide a method for cutting a cutting resistant material having hard and brittle properties by using the cutting liquid or the aqueous slurry.
The aqueous cutting liquid comprises a water-soluble polymer having a structural unit of an amide bond and a polymer having activated hydrogen and as necessary a dispersing agent, a rusting agent, a lubricant, a defoaming agent, a pH buffer agent as additive auxiliaries.
