Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting machine capable of suppressing the scattering of the chips of a cutting material upon cutting operation while suppressing the deterioration of the visibility of an operator upon starting a cutting operation.SOLUTION: A circular saw 1 comprises: a housing 3 mounted with a saw blade 5 for cutting a material 8 to be cut; a motor 4 for driving the saw blade 5; a base 2 slidable on the material 8; and a tip cover 6 which is movable, in conjunction with the sliding action of the base 2 on the material 8, from a first position spaced from the vicinity of an intersection point between the material 8 and the tooth point of the saw blade 5 to a second position covering the intersection point between the material 8 and the tooth pint of the saw blade 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
