To provide a small cutting drive unit with a large cutting drive amount in a cutting device putting a cutting tool in pseudo rotation by two linear motion actuators.
The cutting drive unit 20 has a main frame 21 whose movable part 22 integral with the cutting tool 11 is suspended by a plate spring 23; an electromagnet 25 vibrating the movable part 22 in the direction of an arrow mark A; an electromagnet 26 vibrating the movable part 22 in the direction of an arrow mark B; and a hydrostatic bearing for supporting in a non-contact manner the side face in a Y-direction which is the other component direction of the movable part 22. The cutting drive amount can be increased by using the electromagnet 26 as the linear motion actuator in an X-direction which is a main component force direction. Further, the cutting drive unit can be miniaturized in comparison with the case of using an electrostrictive/magnetostrictive element.
