Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tap that hardly causes chips to bite between a workpiece and the cutting tap when a prepared hole for the female screw formed in the workpiece is tapped.SOLUTION: In a cutting tap T, its outer periphery has a plurality of screw threads 5 corresponding to a female screw 4 to be tapped. The plurality of screw threads 5 include the screw threads 5 that are provided axially away from each other at an interval twice longer than a pitch p of the female screw 4. A screw thread removal part 10 for chip release, which has an outer diameter dsmaller than a root diameter dof a reference chevron shape of the screw thread 5, is formed between the screw threads 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
