Abstract:

To prevent separation of a cutting edge piece even if it is used for high speed cutting by directly brazing the cutting edge piece to a cutting edge piece brazing part of a tool main body composed of WC group cemented carbide through an Ag alloy brazing material.

A cutting edge piece is set to a cutting edge piece brazing part in a condition of sandwiching a brazing material, and is brazed and joined, and a cutting tool is obtained. The cutting edge piece is composed of a CBN group sintered material containing boron nitride as a main component. The brazing material is an Ag alloy brazing material having a composition which contains Cu of 20 to 30wt.%, Ti of 1 to 5wt.%, In of 1 to 10wt.% and whose remainder is composed of Ag and an unavoidable impurity. A tool main body is composed of tungsten carbide group cemented carbide containing tungsten carbide as a main component.
