To streamline a kickback preventive mechanism in a cutting tool including a long ruler attached to a side of a tool body via an adapter.

The cutting tool includes: a round saw body 101 to which a blade 103 is attached; the long ruler 120 structured separately from the round saw body and attached to a workpiece W; a base 110 provided on the round saw body; a slide rail 121 provided on the long ruler 120; the adapter 130 having a slide groove engaging with the slide rail and permitted to slide on the long ruler when engaged and also fixed to the base 110; a regulating member provided on the adapter to control movement of the adapter in an opposite direction to a cutting direction together with the round saw body by friction when the long ruler 120 comes into contact; and a carrying member for carrying the regulating member at a contact evasion position where the contact with the long ruler is avoided.
