To provide a cutting tool having a long service life even in high speed and intermittent cutting.
This cutting tool is made of a cemented carbide which includes: 80 to 94 mass% WC; 5 to 15 mass% Co; 0.1 to 5 mass% Ti in terms of a carbide amount; 0.1 to 10 mass% Nb in terms of a carbide amount; and 0 to 10 mass% of at least one kind out of at least one kind of metal carbide (except WC), at least one kind of metal nitride and at least one kind of metal carbonitride, the metals in these being selected from the fourth, fifth and sixth groups of the periodic table except Ti and Nb. The cutting tool is composed of: a WC phase; a B1-type solid solution phase which is formed of a single structure; and a binder phase mainly made of Co. The cutting tool has different positions where the concentrations of the Ti and the Nb become the highest, respectively.
