Abstract:
The tool has a tool head e.g. reamer head (3), with tool cutting edges (15) that are made from a material of the tool head. Tool shanks have a clamping section (4) that retains into a tool retainer. The tool head is mounted at the tool shanks as separate part, and is made in single-piece from a hard material with a function layer that contains a super hard material such as cubic boron nitride (CBN) or polycrystalline diamond (PCD). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a tool head for a chip removing tool.
