The near-infrared absorbing composition contains a cyanine compound represented by the general formula (1), wherein Z1 and Z2 each independently represent a nonmetallic atom group which forms a 5-membered or 6-membered nitrogenous hetero ring which may be condensed; R1 and R2 each independently represent an aliphatic group or aromatic group; L1 represents a methine chain consisting of 7 methines with morpholino group being substituted; a and b each independently represent 0 or 1, wherein one or more anionic groups are contained in the molecule.
