Abstract:
To provide a resin composition for a color correction optical filter that is a color correction optical filter to be used for a liquid crystal display having an LED as a light source and that can selectively absorb light in an unnecessary wavelength region giving poor color purity of light transmitted through a color filter without decreasing brightness of the liquid crystal display, and a color correction optical filter containing the above composition.SOLUTION: A cyanine compound represented by formula (1) is provided. In formula (1), Rrepresents a pyridyl group; X represents a n-propylene group or a n-butylene group; Y represents COor SO; and Mrepresents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom or an alkaline earth metal atom.SELECTED DRAWING: None
