PREPARATION: The objective compound of formula I can be produced by reacting resorcinol with a compound of formula II (X1 and X2 are halogen or nitro) in a polar solvent (especially N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) in the presence of an alkali metal salt (especially Na2CO3, etc.) at 100-360°C for 0.5-12hr.
