Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in elastic recovery, melt flow characteristics, moldability, etc., by mixing two specified cyclic olefin copolymers different in intrinsic viscosity at a specified weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:The title composition is produced by mixing 100 pts.wt. cyclic olefin copolymer (A) which has repeating units derived from an alpha-olefin (e.g. ethylene) and one derived from a cyclic olefin (e.g. 2-norbornene) and has a glass transition temperature of 30 deg.C or lower with 2-400 pts.wt. cyclic olefin copolymer (B) which has repeating units derived from an alpha-olefin and ones derived from a cyclic olefin and has a glass transition temperature of 30 deg.C or lower and an intrinsic viscosity (dl/g) different by at least 5% from that of component A. This composition hardly suffers melt fracture in the molding step and is suitably used as a molding material for automobile parts, etc.
