NEW MATERIAL:A pyrophosphoric ester derivative shown by the formula I (A links with a benzene nucleus directly to form a biphenyl bond, or is lower alkylene, aryl substituted lower alkylene, etc.; R1 is aryl, acryloyloxy lower alkyl, etc.; R2 is H, halogen, etc.).
EXAMPLE: A compound shown by the formula V.
USE: A restorative dental material for remedy. Being polymerized by light, heat, polymerization initiator, etc. and cured. Useful as a dental filler and an industrial material.
PROCESS: A compound shown by the formula II is reacted with a compound shown by the formula POX3 (X is halogen) to give a compound shown by the formula III, which is reacted with an alcohol shown by the formula R1OH, to give a compound shown by the formula IV. This compound is then hydrolyzed in the presence of water and a base, and subjected to condensation through dehydrohalogenation, to give a compound shown by the formula I.
