Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new cycloalkane deriv. or its pharmaceutically allowable salt useful as an enzyme 5-lipoxygenase inhibitor and effective in treating inflammation and allergic diseases. CONSTITUTION: This cycloalkane deriv. is represented by formula I [where Ar<1> is phenyl, napththyl or a 10-membered bi-heterocyclic group, A<1> is direct bond to X<1> or an alkylenne, X<1> is oxy, thio, sulfinyl, etc., Ar<2> is phenylene, pyridylene, pyrimidinylene, etc., (p) is 1-4, (q) is 0-2, R<1> is H, an alkyl, etc., R<2> is H, OH, an alkyl, etc., OR<1> and R<2> may form a ring,(r) is 0-3 and R<3> is a halogen, an alkyl, etc.], e.g. (3RS,4SR)-1,1-dimethoxy-4-methyl-3-[3-(1- methyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinolin-6-ylmethoxy)phenyl]cyclohexane, or its pharmaceutically allowable salt. It is obtd. by allowing ketone represented by formula II to react with a 1-4C alkyl, 2-4C alkenyl or 3-4C alkynyl alcohol.
