EXAMPLE: 4-Isobutoxycarbonyl-4'-(2-isobutoxycarbonyl)ethyl-cyclohexene-1.
USE: Starting material or intermediate of perfume, agricultural chemicals, medicines or industrial chemicals. For example, a starting material for amber perfume and it also is useful as a reactive diluent in coating field because of its polyfunctional properties.
PREPARATION: The Diels-Alder reaction between methyleneglutaric acid or its ester of formula II and a polyene with conjugated double bonds is effected in the presence or absence of a solvent and in the absence or presence of a catalyst as zinc chloride to form the compound of formula I.
