To obtain a cycloolefin composition excellent in water resistance by including a specific monomer, a filler, a specific coupling agent and a metathesis polymerization catalyst to improve its mechanical properties subject to deteriorate when incorporated with the filler.
This cycloolefin composition is obtained by including (A) 100 pts.wt. of a metathesis-polymerizable cycloolefin monomer, (B) 1-99 pts.wt. of a filler, (C) 0.01-20 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the component B, of an alkylsilane coupling agent of the formula (R)n-Si-(R1)4-n (R is an alkyl, at least one of them being ≥6C alkyl; R1 is an alkoxy; n is 1-3) and (D) 0.001-5 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the component A, of a metathesis polymerization catalyst {pref. a catalyst of the formula [M is ruthenium or osmium; X and X1 are each an anionic ligand; L and L1 are each a neutral electron-donating group; Q and Q1 are each H, a (substituted) alkyl, (substituted) alkenyl or (substituted) aromatic group] or the like}.
