Abstract:
To obtain a cyclooxygenase inhibitor scarcely having toxicity and adverse effect and to provide a food product or a beverage product for inhibition of cyclooxygenase.
The cyclooxygenase inhibitor comprises astaxanthin which is a carotenoid pigment ingredient as an active ingredient. The food product or the beverage product for inhibition of cyclooxygenase is obtained by adding astaxanthin to a food product or a beverage product. The cyclooxygenase inhibitor and the food product or the beverage product scarcely have toxicity and adverse effect and are useful for prevention, treatment and alleviation of immunologic diseases.
