Abstract:
This production method of a compound represented in formula (I) is characterized by deriving a para-phenylene ring from the compound represented in formula (II) by the 2- and 5-position OH groups bonded to a 1,3-cyclohexadiene ring being reductively eliminated in the presence of any of the reducing agents listed in (1)-(4): (1) an Sn(II) compound, (2) an Fe(II) compound, (3) a low-valence inorganic metal salt compound selected from Cu, CuCl, CuBr, Mn, TiCl3 or CrCl3, and (4) cyclohexadiene. (In the formula, l, m, n, o, R, A1 and A2 are as defined in the specification. However, when l=n=2, the case in which the p's in A1 and A2 are both 0 is excluded.)
