Abstract:

To secure scuffing resistance and prevent increase of oil consumption and friction between a bore inner surface and a piston ring in an engine including a cylinder block having spray deposit formed on the bore inner surface without using expensive spray deposit material such as Mo material.

Honing is applied on the bore inner surface of the cylinder block after forming spray deposit film of nonferrous metal material. Then, honing oil adhering on the bore inner surface after honing is impregnated between layer particle of the spray deposit film on the bore inner surface. At a time of impregnation, honing oil is impregnated between layer particles by opening an inside of the bore to atmospheric air after removing air between the layer particles of the spray deposit by vacuuming the inside of the bore.
