CONSTITUTION: The manufacture of a cylinder block made of a light alloy comprises a process wherein a chiller 4 is installed at a part where the inner surface of a cylinder 2 is formed and a cylinder block 1 is die-cast through internal chill of the chiller 4; a process wherein a cutting work C is applied so that a sound layer 2a of a die cast material formed at a part making contact with the chiller 4 is exposed to a surface; and a process wherein a plated layer 5 is formed on the surface of the sound layer 2a of a die cast material.
