Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder bore wall of an internal combustion engine capable of attaining an oil film.SOLUTION: A sliding surface 110a of a cylinder bore wall 100 of an internal combustion engine is formed with several complex recesses 110, each of the several complex recesses 110 comprises a first recess part 111, and a second recess part 112 in continuous with the first recess part 111 to enclose the first recess part 111. The second recess part 112 has a wedge part 112a in continuous with the sliding surface 100a to produce a dynamic pressure effect between it and a piston ring fitted to a piston, a depth of the second recess part 112 from the sliding surface 110a is shallower than a depth of the first recess part 111 from the sliding surface 100a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
