Abstract:
PURPOSE: To control the air-fuel ratio even in cylinder cut-off operation by providing an operation condition detecting means and an operation method selecting means, and arranging an air-fuel ratio detecting sensor in a cylinder to be operated even at cylinder cut-off operation time.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust system formed by connecting exhaust ports of respective cylinders to a single collected exhaust passage extending in the arranging direction of the respective cylinders, is provided. Particularly, an operation condition detecting means 31 and an operation method selecting means 32 are provided. The operation condition detecting means 31 detects an operation condition of an engine. The operation method selecting means 32 selects either of whole cylinder operation to operate the whole cylinders according to an engine operation condition and cylinder cut-off operation to cut off operation of partial cylinders. An air-fuel ratio detecting sensor of a cylinder to be operated even at cylinder cut-off operation time is provided. In this way, when the air-fuel ratio detecting sensor is arranged in the cylinder, the air-fuel ratio can be controlled even at cylinder cut-off operation time.
